Quarterly Climate Impacts and Outlook for the Southeast and Caribbean Region for September–November 2024. Dated December 2024.

Temperatures were above average across the Southeast this autumn. The greatest departures were found along the northern Gulf Coast, extending through the interior of the region to northern Virginia, where most locations were 3 °F to 4 °F above average. Precipitation was variable this autumn. The wettest locations were found across parts of Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and the Carolinas, where seasonal totals were 5 to 15 inches above average.

NOAA’s Regional Climate Services Program created these climate outlooks to inform the public about recent climate impacts within their respective regions. Each regional report contains easy-to-understand language, and anyone can access them through the Drought Portal.
