Dry Times Is Back - and It Has a New Look!
Dry Times - formerly a bi-annual printed newsletter - has been converted into a more streamlined, email-based newsletter in an effort to establish and maintain regular and consistent communication with its partners and stakeholders in the regional Drought Early Warning Information Systems and around the country. The newly launched Dry Times will feature current drought stories, updates on drought-related research and projects, relevant decision-support tools, and events, such as upcoming webinars and workshops.
These emails, sent on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, will highlight news and upcoming events from NOAA partners (e.g., NWS, NESDIS, OAR, RCCs), as well as its federal partners (e.g., USDA, CDC, NASA, and the DOI), and other partners including the National Drought Mitigation Center (NDMC), Western Governors Association (WGA), NOAA’s Regional Integrated Sciences and Assessments (RISAs), and the Desert Research Institute (DRI), to name a few.
The redesigned Dry Times was a collaborative effort between NIDIS and its partner agencies and organizations, and was structured to respond and adapt to evolving best practices and norms in digital communication. Subscribers to Dry Times can also join any of the nine mailing lists for the NIDIS regional Drought Early Warning Information Systems (DEWS).
Dry Times will be emailed on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, starting on September 6, 2018.
