Regional Outlooks Summarize Drought Conditions, Impacts, What's Ahead

Some of what you’ll find in Quarterly Outlooks:

• March 14 was the all-time snowiest day on record at Binghamton, NY, and Scranton, PA, and the snowiest March day on record at Williamsport, PA, and Hartford, CT.
• By early May, three New England states were free of drought for the first time since June 2016.
• In the Southeast, record-breaking warmth was observed during April, as mean temperature departures across the region ranged from 1°F to as much as 9°F above average. 

In March, June, September and December, NOAA’s Regional Climate Services Programs create Climate and Drought Outlook documents to inform the public about recent climate impacts within their respective regions. This effort, which began in 2012, now includes as many as 10 unique regional products, all produced collaboratively with partner organizations. Each regional report contains easy-to-understand language, and anyone can access them at https://www.drought.gov/reports.
